Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce Develops Sustainable Tourism & Events

The Adirondack resort community of Tupper Lake in Northern New York?s Adirondack Park will be hosting a series of events throughout the late summer and fall foliage season.

The Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce continues to work closely with a number of area businesses and service organizations to promote Tupper Lake as a vacation destination.

?For the past two years, our goal has been to restructure the marketing program here in the Tupper Lake region of the Adirondack wilderness,? states Events Chairman Rick Donah. ?Our strategy for getting the word out about Tupper Lake as a great place to stay and play includes a strong focus on events.?

The Tupper Lake Chamber works with the Wild Center, Ski Big Tupper and the local business community to generate sustainable tourism that supports area small businesses during both the summer and winter seasons.

?Many people know of the natural beauty and great weather during the summer months, but fall and winter in the Adirondacks provides so much more opportunity for family fun and outdoor activities,? Donah added.????

Upcoming 2011 summer events include:

????Tupper Lake Open Weekend is August 13-14. Sponsored by the Tupper Lake Golf Club, watch some of the best golfers in upstate New York compete in a Pro-Am format.
????One of the Adirondack Region?s oldest and largest Flea Markets is August 19-21 in the village park. The Mt. Arab Masonic Lodge hosts this popular collectibles and merchants market.
????17th Annual Mountain Challenge is August 27-28. The Tupper Lake Archers will host this gathering of the finest archers in the northern tier.
????Celebrate Tupper Lake is August 27 in the business district of Park Street. Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, events are from 9am to 4pm.
????Adirondack fall foliage events will include the 2011 OctoberFest at Ski Big Tupper.
